March 18, 2020
As of March 13, all Chinese and foreign personnel traveling to Shanghai from countries deemed high-risk for COVID-19 will be subject to isolation and observation for up to 14 days. The recent order from the Shanghai government identifies South Korea, Italy, Iran, Japan, France, Spain, Germany, and the United States, among other countries, as high risk.
With China imposing quarantines on foreigners entering from high-risk countries, just as work at some factories is resuming, it may not be advisable to send domestic staff to manage supply-chain issues. Exponent's presence in Shanghai and Hong Kong can be your eyes and ears on the ground when dealing with suppliers. Our services in Asia include factory visits and audits for procedures and quality control (QC), analysis of failed items in reliability testing, and advanced research.
