Mr. Henrique Cheng provides consulting services related to statistics, data analysis, and data visualization. He has experience with experimental design, regression, machine learning, computational statistics, functional data analysis, and Bayesian statistics. He has specifically worked with applications in healthcare, insurance, biology, and ecology.
Mr. Cheng became interested in statistics during his undergraduate studies in marketing after taking quantitatively oriented courses such as survey design and analysis. He completed a master's in applied statistics at LSU, where he gained experience consulting for clients within the university and programming in SAS, R, and C++. His most notable project there involved examining insect populations in streams for the College of Coast and Environment. Mr. Cheng has a strong passion for the instruction of statistics and communicating scientific ideas to a general audience.
He is currently completing a Ph.D. in statistics at ASU, where his dissertation focuses on Bayesian methods for estimating ordinary differential equation (ODE) parameters. While at ASU, he developed a model selection method with applications in ecology and completed a consulting project that analyzed weight loss patterns over time.
