Aran Uppal

Aranpreet is a toxicology professional with over 3 years' experience in the cosmetic sector, having joined Exponent in March 2023. After gaining a Master's degree in Toxicology in 2019, Aranpreet went on to join Delphic HSE as a Junior Toxicologist. His aptitude for the role quickly saw him promoted to the role of Toxicologist, where he was able to further refine his skills as a cosmetic product safety assessor. His role is to offer Cosmetic Product Safety Reports (CPSRs), Toxicological Risk Assessments (TRAs), label/pack copy reviews and Product Information File (PIFs) management, in compliance with EU Cosmetic Regulations 1223/2009 and the new UK Cosmetics Regulation.

Prior to joining Exponent, Aranpreet was responsible for ensuring global regulatory compliance for cosmetic products. In addition, he carried out safety assessments for other areas such as household products, biocides, and toys. A keen interest of Aranpreet's is Furocoumarins, an area which remains a hot topic of contention in cosmetic products given the phototoxicity concerns.

In addition to his Masters degree in Toxicology, Aranpreet also achieved a BSc in Pharmacology, with first class honors. He is a member of the Royal Society of Biology.
