Dr. Robert Haddad joins Exponent's Environmental & Earth Sciences practice as a Principal Scientist and Corporate Vice President.
Dr. Haddad brings nearly 30 years of experience providing technical support, policy evaluation, and strategy development and implementation for both industry and the federal government. During the past 8 years, he co-led the National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration's (NOAA) Natural Resources Damage Assessment program, during which he was involved at a national level with policy development as well as expanding technical approaches in NRDA. As the Chief of the Assessment & Restoration Division (ARD) within NOAA's National Ocean Services Line Office, Dr. Haddad helped create a world class NRDA organization dealing with the assessment of injury from oil spill/Hazardous waste releases, obtaining compensation for injuries to NOAA's natural resources implementing long-term coastal stewardship. Most recently, Dr. Haddad led NOAA's damage assessment for the Deepwater Horizon oil spill.
Dr. Haddad has published in peer-reviewed technical publications and scientific journals, and has authored over 300 technical reports. He obtained his Ph.D. in Chemical Oceanography from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He has had Guest Investigator positions at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute and Fellowships at NASA-Ames Research Center and the Carnegie Institute at Stanford University.
