Dr. Bob Bailey has been selected as the 2016 recipient of the Stephen D. Bechtel Jr. Energy Award. This prestigious award is presented by the American Society of Civil Engineers to recognize outstanding achievements in the energy field by a civil engineer. Bob was recognized "for contributions to the practice of wind engineering and its application to evaluating the resilience of critical power infrastructure to hazards associated with hurricanes, tornadoes and flooding." In being selected for the award, the committee acknowledges Dr. Bailey's field surveys to document storm damage in the aftermath of some of the most significant hurricanes and earthquakes.
