Exponent Managing Scientist Amy Lavin Williams, Ph.D., DABT, has been chosen as secretary of the Society for Birth Defects Research and Prevention (BDRP), an international scientific organization of about 700 members.
During her appointment, Dr. Williams will help further the BDRP's mission to prevent developmental and reproductive disorders and improve diagnosis and treatment. As a board-certified toxicologist for over 20 years, she has served as a government and commercial consultant, assessing risks to human reproductive health and offspring development from exposure to medicines and chemicals. She has also published extensively on issues related to developmental and reproductive toxicology as well as endocrine disruption.
As part of Exponent's Health Sciences practice, Dr. Williams' areas of specialization include developmental and reproductive toxicology, endocrine disruption, carcinogenicity mode-of-action assessments, general toxicology of substances, and the assessment of potential health effects from electromagnetic frequency exposures. In addition, Dr. Williams is a member of the American Board of Toxicology, American College of Toxicology, Society of Toxicology, and Endocrine Policy Forum.
